The worst about The Secret is that even its occultism is bogus.

I spent considerable time in my youth studying the occult - almost entirely from the perspective of a skeptic (I'm even more skeptical now).

The Law of Attraction (which I do not believe in) isn't about wishful thinking. It's about disciplining your mind to focus entirely on a single goal. It's an intense method of self-discipline, and self-deception too, absolutely, but learning how to control one's own mind has value.

So The Secret is a dumbed-down, low work version of occultism - which in its turn is mostly a low work parody of actual science.
