This article would be more interesting if you had actually learned something beyond "Belgium is fun."

Market forces are absolutely not "notoriously reliable". In fact, they're relentlessly destroying our entire ecosystem, by turning the world's raw materials into pollution as far as possible.

In America, market forces "reliably" kill people every day. In fact, at least two Americans I knew died on the street, and there are two others who were homeless before COVID and from whom I've heard nothing since and fear the worst.

Instead of going on relentlessly about the free markets and sounding like some sort of mindless Trump supporter, this would have been a much better article if you'd asked some difficult questions, like "Maybe market forces are not the godlike benevolent forces I grew up believing they were, and perhaps market forces are why the United States has so many miserable people."
