This is a literal ad hominem argument. "Because of who this person is, they couldn't possibly have said that." Recast this way, it is obviously false.

The article is full of lengthy quotes from the book and discussions of the reasoning, so when you say, "Did you even read the book?", you expose the fact that you didn't actually read past the first paragraph or so.
