This is a truly sad story — I’m so, so sorry it happened.
Some thirty years ago I lost my best friend to suicide, and my mother gave me advice that has stuck with me to this day.
She said something like this: “Suicide is often an impulse crime without a good reason or for no reason at all. You can’t think of it as some sort of reasoned rejection or repudiation of the world, of their lives, or of you. It’s much better to think of it like a car accident or a heart attack.”
I hope this has some utility! My very best wishes to you.
