This is an excellent article, so much good reasoning aside from the straw poll.
I have to quibble only about this number.
Some seven million people were confirmed to have died of COVID, but the actual number of deaths caused by COVID-19, based on excess mortality, is almost certainly a lot greater than 7 million, perhaps more than twice as much.
(I say something like "COVID has probably killed on the order of ten million people".)
