You miss the main point that the stories and pictures involved a lot of naked little girls and torture!

It's not as simple as that - it's a rollicking adventure story at its base - but the Vivian Girls get captured and tortured and are naked for various reasons an awful lot, and there are plenty of pictures of those.

Now, before you think I'm about to cast Darger as some sort of evil person, I'd say quite the reverse. When all this stuff came out, they did an inquiry to see if he'd ever done anything improper with kids in the hospital he'd worked or anywhere else.

But no - Darger had been the soul of discretion during his life. He simply had a very active and somewhat disturbing fantasy life, one that he kept completely as a fantasy. I admire him for this. Your thoughts are your own - actions are what counts.
