This is an otherwise great article, but Chernobyl did NOT kill one Ukrainian in twelve, as you are claiming, or anything even vaguely close to that.

30 people died almost immediately. 60 people who were directly exposed died in the decades to follow.

There are some unknown number of additional cancer deaths in Europe and Ukraine. Note that the number of deaths is so small that it is unable to be directly detected, but is probably in hundreds, not the millions.

So you are off by a factor of roughly ten thousand.

I really did like this article, but this inexplicably wild number calls all your reporting into question.
