This is pretty good as far as it goes, but you miss one key point — comprehension.

I personally can read upwards of 2000 wpm and yet my reading speed is dramatically different depending on the material. Some material is easy to comprehend, some is harder and your reading speed depends on that.

The reason that people’s reading is overall slow is because they have bad habits that means they don’t read each word in order — their eyes jump forward, and have to jump back. If you don’t address that when you try to speed up your reading, you’ll just lower your comprehension.
