Just to pick one issue, here we are in the greatest pandemic in living memory, and yet not one single senior Democrat is even willing to talk about socialized medicine, something which is supported by a majority of Americans.

This should be the motto of the Democrats. "Why bother trying if we're going to lose anyway? But at least we aren't Trump!"

Oh, and your idea that "holding the line" is all that Biden needs to win re-election is just so false I don't know where to start.

Biden's already scored a major loss in Americans' eyes with Afghanistan. The Band-Aid needed to be ripped off, he was brave to do it, but the actual withdrawal was totally bungled in every possible way.

America was humiliated and defeated in most Americans' eyes, particularly the ones who think the ability for the US to fuck shit up is the most important thing at all, which is a lot of Democrats as well as Republicans.

So now Biden cannot win by just "not fucking up" for the rest of his term. He has to deliver something positive that will make people get the nasty taste out of their mouths.

This whole "if we just continue not to be the Republicans, we'll win the hearts and mind of the people" idea has failed for generations..

Look at the things that the Republicans hate - socialized medicine, fair compensation and rights for workers, preventing the climate apocalypse.

Democrats shouldn't be like, "We're for these, I guess, but we won't do anything." They need to be as passionate for these things as Republicans are against them.

They won't. They are corrupted by the system that delivers for them so well. Now AOC has her own clothing line.
