This latest argument, “All diets kill”, seems to be the talking point of the moment.
But animal based diets kill at least four times as many insects and other animals as a plant-based diet. They consume nearly an order of magnitude more land, and contribute an order of magnitude more to greenhouse gas levels.
(And of course, there’s the terrible and systematic torture of meat animals over their lifetime, which this article details — please don’t forget about that. Even if you think the suffering of animals is unimportant, it debases humans to pay them to cause pain to living creatures.)
So there is an easy answer — stop eating animals and dairy. This will reduce somewhere between 75% and 90% of your footprint on the planet from eating!
