This prompted me to look how how this feature, apparently called “Smart Compose,” works. It’s not a generic suggestion — apparently it’s taken from your own writing previously.

So if it suggests “experience” then apparently this is what you did most often previously.

I love to write, and I haven’t found the Smart Compose to be particularly useful or at all a bother. Every day or perhaps a bit more often it tries to fill something in — usually by the time I notice it I’m already a long way into it because I type fast, but it’s usually right, and sometimes I let it autocomplete, ah, “Smart Compose”, for me.

I wouldn’t notice it if it got turned off but I wouldn’t turn it off either!
