I reread Cosmic Trigger this year, and it made me very sad, even though I still love Robert Anton Wilson as a writer and a person. Wilson wrote about SMI2LE (space migration, increased intelligence, life extension), an idea invented by Timothy Leary, and Wilson and all the people in this book were certain it was around the corner.

Forty-five years later, none of these things came to pass and all these people are dead.
