Unfortunately, the last third of your very interesting article gets a lot of "question marks in diamonds" because you must be using a lot of Unicode that doesn't appear on my default system font.
I have a recent Mac, and they're generally pretty good about having a wide range of Unicode characters, so I haven't seen that symbol in a very long time!
Fascinating article, though! I still don't have a well-worked out opinion on the issue, but I'll muse over it.
