“Unique”? This really needs proof.

I worked at Google for five years. At that time, there were many branded and customized search engines that did exactly that — receive queries and pay Google to get results.

Many of them were special-purpose — the most famous one was probably Ask.com which used to be Ask Jeeves.

So historically speaking this certainly isn’t unique. It might be unique today, but even that really needs some sort of proof or citation.
