Venice has been expensive for the last century!

Venice and Amsterdam share a similar feeling in my mind, because they are both doomed cities.

The last time the CO2 levels were this high, water levels were 5 to 20 meters higher than today.

I expect these cities to outlive me with many decades to spare, or I wouldn't be living in Amsterdam.

But Amsterdam will be 750 years old in two years. 750 years in the future, the waves will be washing over the spot I now sit; our doorstep is 60cm below sea level.

And much the same will sadly be true for Venice.
