Virtue signalling - a term often used by the morally bankrupt to justify their sociopathy. I don't know if this is you or not, but so far, not one compassionate person I've read or known has ever used that term.

It's both funny and sad that most people seem to agree that we need to not destroy our planet, but any specific emissions you want to cut is greeted with mockery.

Cruise ships should be a low-hanging fruit because no one needs to go on a cruise, because the emissions per person are greater than any other thing you could do if you aren't going to space, because these cruise ships have relentlessly flouted both the health regulations and pollution regulations for decades now.

If you want some grim fun, go to Google, set your last search date to be before COVID, and look for "coronavirus cruise ship". You'll find an outbreak a few months before COVID. Now set the date to before that and keep going back. You'll always be able to find coronavirus outbreaks (as well as norovirus and influence) going back decades.

Cruise ships are tremendously destructive to the local economy - did you try to search this before typing four question marks? Did you try to think it through? I'm sure you didn't.

Local communities need to be self-reliant. Relying on a single source of income from outside the community puts your community at a terrible risk, because one day that outside money will stop coming, for some reason outside your control.

As we see today, as all those cruise ship communities are devastated. But it isn't just that. Look up the history of guano - bird poop! - which, when the foreign market collapsed, took out places all over the world like Peru and Nauru.

There's a lot more, but I'm out of time: https://today.emich.edu/story/story/10623

We need to cut emissions by 90% - 90%! - in order not to devastate our planet. Everything must go. Things like cruise ships, which are wildly emissive and only used by the affluent, should be the first on the chopping block, but we also need to slash nearly all air travel and all gasoline cars.

But don't worry! You'll win and we pathetic virtue signallers will definitely lose! No one's going to stop taking cruise ships, or flying, or certainly not driving huge gas guzzlers. Think of the economy!

Nope, we'll just keep doing it until we break the climate, devastating all human futures for all time to come, and then you can feel the satisfaction of a job well done.
