We can all agree on this - Americans who are voting in swing states must vote for Biden, because the alternative is inconceivable.

That said, Obama was not a terrible President for the environment. Yes, yes, better than Trump and Bush.

In particular, he was wildly pro-fossil fuels.

To prevent catastrophe, we need to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by at least 90%. We've known this since the 1990s.

Obama was the last chance we had to make a huge dent in that, and he did exactly the reverse.

He was wildly enthusiastic about fracking and thanks to that, by the end of his term, the US was exporting more oil than any other country.

After the Deepwater Horizon catastrophe, Obama should have enforced the law on BP and forced them to pay for the costs of their destruction. Instead, he prevented journalists from covering the disaster, protected BP from the consequences of their crimes just like he'd protected Wall Street and then just the next year, allowed the Energy Department to write a record number of permits for new drilling in the Gulf - a record only beaten by Obama!, the next year.

Again, the ACA wasn't a success - it was a terrible failure.

People wanted proper medical care for generations. America needed a complete overhaul of its medical system. Instead, the ACA fixed NONE of the actual issues.

America was far behind. The bases were loaded. America needed a homerun - but Obama chose to bunt.

And America got exactly the same medical system, except that a small number of new people got the truly terrible "insurance" that Americans get.

And of course, the fix was so flimsy that the moment something went wrong, it collapsed.

Am I trying to make you sad? No! I'm trying to make you angry.

I was disgusted with American Democrats when they allowed Obama to deliver nothing except more war, more gasoline, and more guarantees for the insurance and pharma industries.

I was involved in the anti-war movement under W, but it just vanished under Obama, even though Obama started new wars and was in general every bit as much of a warmonger as Bush.

My wife and I arranged to leave America forever because of Obama and then Clinton. We realized that change was never coming. I wanted a chance to vote for a candidate I liked before I died (and I got that chance!) To be honest, we foolishly did not really believe that Trump really was likely to win.

So work for Biden's election, but unlike Obama, please please remember that once your candidate is elected, that's only the start of your work, not the end. Keep on him! Keep him honest! Force him to work for you!

Thanks for reading and good luck!
