His plan is this: allow the Earth's biosphere to die due to pollution, resource exhaustion, and the destruction of natural habitats, and then a tiny number of billionaires will flee to the freezing cold, dark, airless, lifeless, arid, radioactive, poisonous deserts of Mars, there to live out their lives for hundreds of years in pressurized domes.

It is literal madness.

Even the most aggressive estimates have it taking centuries to terraform Mars. The Earth doesn't have centuries left.
