Well, I lived there for thirty years and America is not receptive to good new ideas.

Consider ideas like:

• Socialized medicine

• Not starting a series of pointless foreign wars against people who never did the country any harm, and losing all of them

• The rich and powerful should also be subject to the law

• Maybe it would be a good idea not to completely destroy our ecosystem and our climate

These are all ideas that have been around for generations, and yet they are still considered laughable.

It's great to be rich in America, but it's extremely hard if you aren't.
