We've known about the Greenhouse Effect for over 150 years. I still have a book I got in the 1970s, printed by Scientific American, talking about the consequences of of fossil fuel use.

IF this article were, "I'm a petroleum engineer, and I'm sorry", I would never have said anything, but the actual article said, "I'm a petroleum engineer, and I'm not sorry for what I did: the rest of you are to blame for not preventing me from doing it", and he's still talking about a young engineer joining the petroleum industry and having a "great career" for 40 years!

The idea that it's the "far left" who are the only people who don't want to destroy the left is equally nauseating and false to the fact.

People are responsible for the consequences of their actions, particularly when they have had decades to realize what they are doing and are still unrepentant at the end.

I might add that the climate catastrophe is the biggest crime, by far, in human history. We're going to kill a million species, most of humanity, and render great swaths of the planet uninhabitable.

The scenarios where this doesn't happen would involve the world's richest 1% giving up nearly all their consumption, and the world's richest 10% - us - giving up a majority of our consumption, voluntarily.

If you have met humans, you will know this will never happen. Oh, I gave up a great deal of my consumption, over 20 years ago now, when I realized what was going down. I have never owned a car, stopped flying many years ago, have a plant-based diet, no kids, I bike everywhere, etc.

But my wife and I are weird outliers.

The Dave Voleks of this world are going to continue to consume and produce at an exponentially increasing rate, and blame external forces, like leftists and the lack of tiered democratic governance, for their own selfish, destructive decisions.

God help future generations, because we certainly won't.
