When I was a kid, most of the movies were for adults.

Now it's all comic books, almost all the time. Each movie ends with a punchup.

And it isn't independent comics either. The lion's share of these films are made by Disney, now the largest media powerhouse in history. Almost all the rest are made by Warner Brothers.

And the societal message is just awful: might makes right, violence is the solution to everything. Even worse is the message that the People, even banded together in groups, are completely powerless - only a tiny number of exceptional talents, mostly billionaires, royalty or even gods, can effect actual change.

Can we take a break from comic book movies, please?
