While I agree with your article in general, this number is almost certainly far, far too high.
The Amnesty International article you quoted gives no source for this number.
More, there was a recent peer-reviewed study that showed that intersex births were much higher than had previously been reported - at 0.13%.
That's less than a tenth the number that Amnesty International claims, without proof or citation.
