While making sweeping generalizations about a billion people always has aspects of error, the Chinese don't have that worship of individuality leading to the idea of spending extraordinary resources to keep old people alive to the same level that America does.
(Or did. COVID-19 was rather educational as to how disposable a lot of Americans feel their elders to be...)
The China issue will be solved in a simple but horrible way - "voluntary" euthanasia with strong financial incentives.
For example, one idea would be to give older people pensions based on how many working descendents they had.
In an old-age-heavy society, that means that most old people would starve because they had few if any descendents, and then the CCP offers "deluxe euthanasia" with some luxury before you go.
If they started to roll this in over twenty years, it would also be a real incentive for people now to start reproducing...
As another Medium writer said, "The CPP have always better at mathematics than human rights."
