Words have actual meanings.
Fascism is defined as a far-right nationalist philosophy. The word was invented by Mussolini and taken up by Hitler, and both of them used the word to distinguish themselves from the left.
You should remember that the very first people to die in the Nazi concentration camps were German socialists and communists.
Fascism doesn't mean "someone is trying to tell me what to do". We have a word for that - it's "authoritarianism".
Here, again, is a definition of Fascism: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism#
Calling the left "fascist" makes exactly as much sense as calling the Republicans Communist, which is to say, none.
I would add that Fascism has several other key features:
* Nationalism
* Exaggerated patriotism
* Veneration of the military
* Close cooperation between corporations and the government
These are all things that the left in America today are against.
I live in a city where proud Fascists marched in and dragged off 80,000 people to be murdered in death camps. My grandfather spent years in a Fascist prisoner of war camp.
Words have actual meanings. If you persist in using made-up meanings, you're being dishonest.
Let's make a deal. I won't do anything ridiculous like call Trump a Communist, and you can avoid doing something equally ridiculous like calling leftists Fascists.
