Yeah, but a bridge to what?

I was living in America at the time, and I disagreed with literally all of Obama's policies.

The ACA was broken by design - yes, it was marginally better than what was there but fixed zero of the systemic problems. Still more than 10% of Americans are uninsured; still people die because they cannot afford treatment for routine issues like diabetes; still people get sick and lose every penny they had.

And that's what I like best. No investigation in the Iraq War? I didn't like that, considering it was entirely based on lies, cost trillions and killed more Americans than 9/11.

Allowing Wall Street to plead guilty to literally thousands of serious felonies, with no one spending a day in jail - I didn't like that either: https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/gangster-bankers-too-big-to-jail-102004/

His endless obsession with fossil fuels - that makes me sick, sick, sick. https://archive.thinkprogress.org/obamas-worst-speech-ever-we-ve-added-enough-new-oil-and-gas-pipeline-to-encircle-the-earth-e5e24a156910/

Obama was our last chance to mitigate climate change, and he knew it: https://obamamessiah.blogspot.com/2008/06/this-was-moment-when-rise-of-oceans.html

And he did nothing with it. By the end of his second term, the United States was the largest exporter of oil in the world, thanks to fracking.

Warrantless assassinations of US citizens, including children? Don't like it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anwar_al-Awlaki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdulrahman_al-Awlaki

New, failed wars in Libya, Syria, and Yemen, while not ending the existing wars? Jesus fucking Christ, man. (Ah, not intended at you, just a general statement of disgust!)

Without Obama, there would be no Trump.

Somewhere in the middle of the Obama administration, I lost all hope for America. I write this from Amsterdam, where I now live.

Obama was our last chance, squandered on photo-ops and mic drops. I cannot even look at him without feeling cheated.

Ah, sorry for the gloom. Reading the news in the mornings is always depressing! I hope you have an excellent weekend.
