Yes, this is bad for newspapers, reporters, and other news gatherers and channels.

Many, many people now get all their news by going to Google News or Xitter, reading the headlines, and leaving - completely cutting out reporters and their employers.

Local news gets particularly badly hit this way because a local story will never be as popular as a global story.

In general, when someone says something like "That’s a frankly bizarre argument", unless they are talking about something Trump said or the like, it probably means they missed the whole point of the argument.
