Yet another "malignant psychopath brings down a plane" story. But damn, this one's worse than usual. One in three pilots in Pakistan is a fake!?

Your usual strong work. I'd add only that the "Pakistan life expectancy" number of 64 is rather misleading. This number is so low because of a very high infant mortality. Also, there are "two Pakistans" - fairly rich cities, and a desperately poor countryside.

So you would expect a Pakistani pilot to have a life expectancy comparable to a Western one. Of course, a 64-year-old pilot with diabetes and an exaggerated opinion of their own confidence is a recipe for doom in any country.
