You are absolutely right about the history of Islam. Muslims consider both the Old and New Testaments to be from Allah, though they also claim that errors have crept in and only the Koran is inerrant.

Muslims, Christians and Jews all consider Abraham to be a prophet, but Jews stop at the OT, Christians at the NT, and then Muslims also have the Koran.
