And what exactly would that goal be? “Women must cover up”? “Bodies are evil”?

If the official had an issue with the swimsuit for some delusional and likely perverted reason, the answer a compassionate person would give would not be, “Sorry, you’re a bad person, you lose the race,” but, “Let’s have a private talk after the race.”
