That is, avoidable, if the United States did not have a delusional narcissistic liar for a President - a monster for which Mrs. Trump gives the superficial cover of humanity.

It takes a complete lack of moral compass to see this as "empathetic". In a normal person, empathy would lead to action.

But remember - Mrs. Trump went to the child prisons at the border wearing a jacket saying, "I really don't care, do u?" There's every bit of evidence that she's every bit as much as clinical sociopath as her husband, and zero evidence of decency. A pre-prepared speech proves zero.

To namecheck American COVID deaths in the service of the re-election of the very man who caused the majority of these deaths is an obscenity.
