The whole reason Our Lords And Masters are sinking billions into AI is that they expect to make money by replacing a lot of human workers by AI workers. There's absolutely no reason to believe that this is at all implausible.

No, I don't believe nearly as many new jobs will be created. Everyone claims this, but no one can even guess what these millions of professional drivers, lawyers, and computer programmers will do for a living. It's not like we haven't gone through similar phases in the past, and everyone knew where the jobs would be - you can see it in the literature of the time.
